Deacon Ed joined Resurrection in March of 2021 after moving to Evansville from Sullivan, Ind. He was ordained as a deacon in August of 2022. Ed and his wife, Cristie, are both pharmacists and owned their own pharmacy in Sullivan for 25 years. They sold the business in 2019 to move to Evansville to be closer to Cristie’s family.
“I graduated from Purdue and Cristie from Butler, and we met at our pharmacy board exam,” Deacon Ed said.
At Resurrection, Deacon Ed assists with much of the liturgical planning. If you want to be a minister at Mass (reader, server, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, etc.), Deacon Ed can help you. He also assists with baptismal preparation and marriage mentor couples, and is happy to visit the sick or homebound to pray with them or take communion to them. You might also find Deacon Ed at our school having lunch with students, greeting them in the drop-off line, playing games with them at recess, or teaching a lesson to help students strengthen their faith.
“I have loved meeting and getting to know the students and teachers,” Deacon Ed said. “We have an awesome school. It is a privilege to be part of the school family. The parish is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant community with both young families and faithful longtime parishioners.”
