Deacon Dan Niemeier

Deacon Dan Niemeier

Deacon Dan is a lifelong member of Resurrection. His grandparents were founding members of the parish; his parents have been members for more than 60 years. Deacon Dan graduated from Resurrection in 1976, was married to Laura here in 1985, and all three of their sons graduated from Resurrection as well. Over the years at Resurrection, Deacon Dan has served as an acolyte, lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Finance Council member, Parish Council president, and Education Commission president. He also enjoys spending time in prayer through Eucharistic Adoration.

Dan served as Resurrection’s Director of Operations from 2019-2022 before becoming president at Mater Dei High School. Dan was ordained as a deacon in August of 2022. As a deacon, he shares time at Mater Dei and Resurrection. When he isn’t leading Mater Dei, he helps serve as deacon at our weekend Masses, assists our RCIA team, helps with Resurrection’s baptismal preparation classes, baptizes parish children, and assists with weddings.

“My two greatest passions are my faith and my family,” Deacon Dan said. “Since saying yes to God’s call to the diaconate, He has blessed me by enabling me to serve Him and my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ at Resurrection parish and Mater Dei. I am also blessed that my wife Laura has been such a wonderful partner and supporter in my diaconal ministry. We love spending time with our family, which includes our beautiful grandchildren.”
